Auburn has hired former Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl.  The school announced the hiring Tuesday, less than a week after the firing of Tony Barbee.   Auburn athletic director Jay Jacobs called the charismatic Pearl "a proven winner who will bring energy and excitement to our program."    Auburn is looking to turn around the struggling program, which has not been to the NCAA Tournament since 2003.    Tennessee fired Pearl in 2011, following an NCAA investigation.  Pearl was suspended three years for a recruiting violation.   The suspension is set to end in August.  Pearl led the Vols to the Big Dance in each of his six seasons as coach.   "I'm humbled and blessed to be back in the game that I love," Pearl said in a statement.    "It's time to rebuild the Auburn basketball program, and bring it to a level of excellence so many of the other teams on campus enjoy."
