Sen. Jeff Sessions says "immigration enforcement in America has collapsed." Sessions reacted Monday to a new report claiming the Obama administration released 68,000 illegal aliens, even though they have criminal convictions. In a statement, Sessions said Americans have a "legal and moral right to the protections our immigration laws afford -- at the border, the interior and workplace." But Sessions says the administration "has stripped these protections, and adopted a government policy that encourages new arrivals to enter illegally or overstay visas by advertising immunity from future enforcement." Sessions said that has hurt public safety, while impairing jobs and wages. He calls the approach "lawless," and says Democrats are empowering it. Sessions says Republicans must end it.
