Investigators Tuesday recovered the bodies of an elderly couple who owned an Irondale motel. The remains of 77-year-old Ching Kao and his wife, 75-year-old Siumei, were located off Rex Lake Road in Leeds, detectives said. Police say the suspected killer, Steven Mulkey, told officers where to find the bodies. Mulkey, who worked as a handyman at the Siesta Motel, is charged with capital murder.
