President Trump Blasts Comey, Defends Firing

President Donald Trump is keeping up his attacks on fired FBI Director James Comey.  Comey tweeted yesterday in response to Trump's allegations that the FBI had placed spies in his presidential campaign.  Comey said the use of confidential informants is highly regulated and essential to protecting the country.  He wrote that Trump's attacks will do lasting damage to the U.S.  He asked, "How will Republicans explain this to their grandchildren?"

In an interview that aired this morning on Fox News, Trump said the real question is how the former director is going to explain his own grandchildren about his lies and deceit.  Trump continued that firing Comey was a great thing for America. The President said that while there are good people in the FBI, there are some rotten apples at the top, including Comey.
