Teenager Stops Man Who Attempted To Sexually Assault His Mother

John Wayne Morris

A Texas teenager is being credited with stopping an intruder who attempted to sexually assault his mother. Police said that John Wayne Morris entered the home through an unlocked door and went straight to the woman's bedroom.

Morris jumped on the woman, startling her awake, and told her that if she fought back her children would be killed. The woman, fearing for her safety and that of her children, started to comply with his demands, when her 15-year-old son came into the room. He pulled Morris off of his mother and put the 37-year-old in a chokehold while his siblings called the police.

When officers arrived, they took Morris into custody and charged him with burglary with intent to commit a sexual act. Officials said that he is a registered sex offender and lived in the neighborhood, though he does not appear to have any connection to the woman he attacked.
