Florida Mom Hit Kid With Taser During Middle School Fight

A Florida mother was arrested after she hit a middle school student in the head with a taser. Police say that Susan Mary Strahsmeier, 42, was at Azalea Middle School in Gulfport when her daughters got into a physical altercation with multiple students.

Strahsmeier jumped into the melee and struck one of the students in the back of the head with a taser. The student suffered minor injuries in the attack.

Strahsmeier was taken into custody and charged with felony counts of child abuse and possession of a weapon on school property. She was also hit with a probation violation stemming from a previous criminal mischief charge. She is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond at the Pinellas County jail.

Officials did not say why the children got into a fight or if any of them will be disciplined.
