Body in Hueytown Identified as Paighton Houston

A body discovered in Hueytown has been positively identified as Paighton Houston, who disappeared two weeks ago, Trussville police said Friday evening. The remains were intact, covered in fabric, and buried in a shallow grave behind a home on Chapel Drive, Bessemer Cutoff District Attorney Lynniece Washington said. The sheriff's office is investigating. "We have a lot more questions than answers, but we hope to have those answers soon," Chief Deputy David Agee said. Houston was last seen Dec. 21 leaving the Tin Roof bar in Birmingham's Lakeview district. Friends say she left with two men, and later sent a text message saying she might be in trouble.

This morning Leah Brandon had a chance to talk with Paighton’s Uncle George Harding. At the time of this interview, investigators were on the scene where a body has been located in Hueytown, but the body had not been identified.
