If There Is A Second Stimulus Check, It Will Probably Be The Last One

Many Americans rejoiced in March when Congress passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which sent checks of up to $1,200 to millions of people. However, since then, most recipients have spent the money during these trying financial times. The House of Representatives recently passed the Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions (HEROES) Act, which would see another stimulus check get sent out, but Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said that the Senate won't be passing it.

That doesn't mean an act won't pass though. Both sides of the aisle are working together to create a bill that they can agree on. Republicans might even be in favor of another stimulus check, with President Trump saying, "I think we're going to be helping people out... getting some money for them."

Although there is a chance that instead of a stimulus check, the next bill will have a different kind of benefit, like a tax cut, whatever it holds, it will likely be the last relief package for the pandemic. This was made pretty clear when McConnell, while speaking in his home state of Kentucky, referred to the act as a "final bill." He also said that America can "anticipate the decision being made" on another stimulus check "in about a month," adding, "It will be narrowly crafted, designed to help us where we are a month from now, not where we were three months ago."
