A Leeds couple was sentenced Wednesday in the deadly dog mauling of a neighbor. 57-year old Jerry Lenton received a year in prison. He pleaded guilty to manslaughter. His wife Jacqueline, 57, received probation, after pleading guilty to criminally negligent homicide. Prosecutors say the couple's Rottweilers attacked and killed a neighbor, 83-year old Don Thomas, in September, 2012. The attack happened as Thomas went to his mailbox. The district attorney's office says the pleas and sentences were arranged in consultation with the victim's family. As part of the terms of their probation, the Lentons are forbidden from having pets.
