Two Teenagers Injured by Train in Helena

Two teenagers were seriously injured after getting hit by a train in Helena on Monday afternoon, police said. The teenagers were crossing a trestle near the Riverwoods subdivision when they noticed an approaching train, and attempted to outrun it, police chief Brad Flynn said. The victims were taken to area hospitals. There was no immediate word on their conditions. Two other teenagers escaped injury. The teenagers, according to Flynn, said they were walking on the tracks from the Blackridge subdivision in Hoover to Helena's Old Town neighborhood. A Helena police officer was injured after falling down an embankment and was transported to a local hospital, Flynn said.
