Carlee Russell Guilty in Abudction Hoax

The Hoover woman who made international headlines after faking her own abduction was found guilty as charged Wednesday in municipal court. A judge convicted Carlee Russell on two misdemeanor charges. Russell said she was kidnapped after calling 911 to report a baby walking along Interstate 459. But the story fell apart after Russell reappeared two days later. Judge Brad Bishop recommended Russell to serve a year in jail, pay fines, and nearly $18,000 dollars in restitution. Russell's attorneys say they will appeal.
