As President Trump raises the specter of a government shutdown over funding for the border wall, Alabama's senior senator suggested the move could be successful. "Pressure works," said Senator Richard Shelby (R-Tuscaloosa), chairman of the powerful Appropriations Committee, during an interview with Fox News. Shelby added, "We all fear a government shutdown ... and we should try to avoid it." At a rally in Tampa, Fla. Tuesday night, the President made it clear he's ready to do whatever is necessary to secure the funding, telling supporters: "We may have to so some pretty drastic things, but we're going to get it."
