Former Alabama House Speaker's Convictions Upheld

A state appeals court Monday issued its long-awaited ruling in the case of former Alabama House Speaker Mike Hubbard.  The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals upheld all but one of Hubbard's 12 convictions.   In 2016, a jury found the Auburn Republican guilty of felony ethics charges, including using his office for personal gain.  Hubbard was sentenced to four years in prison, but  has been free while the case was on appeal.  The state attorney general's office said it was reviewing the ruling.  There was no immediate comment from Hubbard, who has maintained his innocence.
