Galleria Stores Still Open For Business

Galleria business owners want to let Hoover shoppers and residents know they are still open to the public and need their support.

The last week has been rough for Shulunda Henley and her daughter who own the Mint Leafe Boutique just  steps from “Foot Action”  the shop where last week’s deadly confrontation took place.

Since then there have been regular protests both in and outside the Galleria, which have been both off putting and disruptive to shoppers.

“There’s a lot of black owned businesses inside the galleria mall, there’s a lot of diversity inside this mall and we all want justice for everyone that was injured in this incident," said Henley. "We want the right thing to happen but we want it to happen peacefully without it affecting other people’s lives. There are people that work here and these are their jobs and this is how they take care of their family.”

Henley spoke this morning exclusively to JT on Alabama’s Morning News.  Hear the conversation in today’s Podcast, and please consider the Mint Leafe if looking for women’s apparel this Christmas.
