A suspect in an armed carjacking at the Riverchase Galleria was arrested Tuesday, Hoover police said. Albert Ward III is charged with commandeering a vehicle at gunpoint from a woman in the north parking deck last week. Investigators say he's also suspected in a second vehicle theft in Birmingham, and a robbery at a Hwy. 79 convenience store in which the elderly clerk was beaten. Ward was being held on no bond at the Jefferson County Jail.
