The death of an elderly man was under investigation in Hoover, police said. Two friends of the man say they discovered the body Monday at his home on Crossings Drive in the Caldwell Crossings subdivision, investigators said. "We do know that it was under suspicious circumstances," Hoover police Capt. Gregg Rector said. The name of the man, who was in his 70s, was not released. The president of the homeowners association, Steve Goldman, said residents were stunned by the news. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
