A retired Homewood pastor, who was reported missing, has been found alive. The Rev. Sid Burgess disappeared over the weekend during a hike in the Bankhead Forest. He was found near White Creek Falls on Tuesday afternoon, Winston County sheriff's deputies said. Burgess had been subsisting on a small amount of food and creek water, deputies said. Burgess, 70, served as pastor at Edgewood Presbyterian Church for more than 20 years until his retirement in 2013.
