A Birmingham policeman accused of staging a hoax, finds himself on the other side of the law. Officer Keith Buchanan was arrested and charged with making a false report, criminal mischief, and discharging a firearm in city limits. Chief Patrick Smith says Buchanan concocted a shots fired call last Sunday that set off a massive response. Officers found a bullet riddled patrol car near Tarrant, and Buchanan on the ground. He was rushed to the hospital, and officers converged from all over town. The chief says Buchanan concocted the whole story to make himself look like a hero. He's free on $2,000 bond.
