A Birmingham police officer was shot and injured in the line of duty Wednesday. The officer was rushed to the UAB emergency room, and was expected to recover. A suspect was also injured in the shooting. A second suspect was being sought, police said. The shooting happened shortly after noon on Tuscaloosa Avenue and 12th Street Southwest.
