Ivey Announces Plan for Alabama Schools

Alabama's public schools will not resume classes the traditional way this school year, Gov. Kay Ivey announced Thursday. Students will not return to classrooms, said Ivey, citing concerns about the spread of the coronavirus. Ivey called it a "deadly situation." The state school superintendent, Dr. Eric Mackey, said students will conclude the year with a combination of online instruction, take home packets, and other methods of instruction, starting April 6.
