Republican Tommy Tuberville has a commanding 14 point lead in Alabama's Senate race, with a little more than a week to go before the election, a new poll finds. Tuberville leads Sen. Doug Jones (D-Mountain Brook) 55-41 percent, in a survey of likely voters conducted by Montgomery polling firm Cygnal. The poll was taken after Jones opposed the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett. It is consistent with previous independent polls, which also showed double-digit leads for Tuberville. A Jones loss would make it more difficult for Democrats to win control of the Senate, which Republicans control, 53-47.
