Gov. Kay Ivey Thursday ripped President Joe Biden's COVID vaccine mandates, and predicted the measures would be challenged in court. Biden, in an address to the nation, said that he would order all businesses with more than 100 employees to require vaccinations or weekly tests. Ivey blasted Biden's plan. "Once again, President Biden has missed the mark. His outrageous, overreaching mandates will no doubt be challenged in the courts. Placing more burdens on employers and employees during a pandemic with rising inflation rates and lingering labor shortages is totally unacceptable." The governor noted that Alabama has dramatically increased the number of vaccine doses without a mandate. Ivey said she encourages people to get the vaccine, but is opposed to a government mandate on vaccinations. "This is not the role of government," Ivey said.
