Alabama Attorney General Opposes Jackson

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall Thursday testified against the Supreme Court nomination of Ketanji Brown Jackson, casting the judge as an activist who would redesign the criminal justice system. Appearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Marshall charged the federal judge with "promoting the false creed that the American criminal justice system is unfair." The Republican said those beliefs would undermine public safety. Neither of Alabama's senators indicated how they would vote on the nomination following the conclusion of Jackson's confirmation hearings.
