Vestavia Hills police Wednesday announced the arrest of a man suspected in a series of car break-ins. Savonte Bailey, 25, was charged with thefts from vehicles in Cahaba Heights. The man is suspected of committing similar crimes in Leeds and unincorporated Jefferson County. Bailey was also charged with possessing dangerous drugs, and a machine gun conversion device. He was being held on $250,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail.
