A shooting in downtown Birmingham Tuesday afternoon claimed the life of a teenager. Investigators say the victim was shot and killed at Second Avenue South and 18th Street, near Regions Field. Police believe the victim had gone to an alley to meet someone. Detectives say a fight ensued, culminating in the shooting. The victim ran out to the street where he collapsed. There were no immediate arrests. Family members say the victim was a 17-year old who attended Wenonah High School. He's the second student in recent days to lose his life in a homicide.
