Bell Named "Crime Stopper of the Year"

As a deadly crime wave plagues his city, Birmingham Mayor William Bell was named "Crime Stopper of the Year" Tuesday, at a ceremony in Hoover.   Bell was honored by Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama.   Birmingham ended 2016 with an increase in homicides.   February has been an especially deadly month, with 13 killings.   In response, Bell has vowed to work with local and federal law enforcement to get illegal guns off the streets.
