Following a series of protests against President Donald Trump, a pro-Trump demonstration was planned for Hoover on Saturday. Supporters of the president plan to gather at Hoover Tactical Firearms from 12 Noon to 2PM. Several speakers are scheduled at the "Spirit of America" rally, including state Rep. Jim Carns (R-Vestavia), who served as Alabama co-chairman for the Trump campaign, and Alabama Supreme Court Justice Tom Parker. The event organizer, Deanna Frankowski with the Alabama Constitutional Conservatives, described it as a "family-friendly event," and encouraged people to bring American flags. The event was among roughly 60 pro-Trump rallies planned for Saturday nationwide. The event's co-sponsors include the Jefferson County Republican Party and the Alabama Minority GOP.
