Figure in Bentley Scandal Resigns

More heads are rolling in Montgomery, following the resignation of disgraced former Gov. Robert Bentley.    The head of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency --  Stan Stabler -- departed Wednesday, when Gov. Kay Ivey decided to accept his undated letter of resignation, which she has required of all Bentley cabinet members.   The impeachment report by the House Judiciary Committee said Stabler knew about an affair between Bentley and aide Rebekah Mason and worked to conceal it, while telling the public he knew nothing about it.   Another Bentley administration member, Ron Sparks, was left without a job after Ivey eliminated the Office of Rural Development, which Sparks led.   Bentley gave Sparks, a Democrat, the job after defeating him in the 2010 election.
