A woman was arrested in Shelby County, after authorities say she bilked people out of money while falsely claiming to have been diagnosed with terminal cancer. 37-year old Jennifer Cataldo of Sterrett, took in more than $38,000 through a pair of online fundraisers using the GoFundMe site, the state attorney general's office said. The donors believed they were helping pay medical bills, and sending the family on a trip to Disney World. But investigators with the attorney general's office and the FBI determined the woman does not have cancer. The GoFundMe donors will have their money refunded. Cataldo was charged with theft, and ordered held at the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $100,000.
