A Vestavia Hills woman is charged in a DUI crash that left a man seriously injured. Authorities say Karen Stafford, 50, was driving the wrong way on Highway 31 near Brookwood Medical Center in March, when her vehicle collided with another car. Steven Edmondson, 24, suffered injuries that required the amputation of an arm. Both his legs were shattered below the femur. Edmondson, of Hoover, faces additional surgeries. Stafford is charged with assault. She's free on $15,000 bond.
