Gov. Kay Ivey Friday fired the state mental health commissioner. Jim Perdue was a holdover from the Bentley administration. Perdue says the termination came as a surprise. A spokeswoman for the governor describes the firing as a "business decision," and a part of the ongoing transition. A new commissioner will be introduced next week.
