Carrington Ends Campaign for Governor

Jefferson County Commissioner David Carrington Wednesday ended his campaign for governor.   Carrington said he made the decision following "prayerful consideration."    In a statement, Carrington said, "My decision has nothing to do with health or relationship issues.  It just wasn’t meant to be."   Carrington thanked family, friends, and other supporters, and said he intended to finish his term on the county commission.   Carrington said he had no plans to seek another elected office.   His departure from a crowded GOP field comes just days after Gov. Kay Ivey announced that she will seek a full term next year.
