President Donald Trump's job approval rating in Alabama is among the highest of any state in the nation, a new poll said Tuesday. The Morning Consult Survey showed 59 percent of voters in the state approved of Mr. Trump's job performance; only 36 percent disapproved. West Virginia also gave the President a 59 percent job approval rating; in Wyoming, Mr. Trump hit 60 percent. The President's popularity could boost the Senate candidacy of Republican Roy Moore, who has pledged to be a loyal supporter of Mr. Trump's agenda, and a reliable vote to confirm conservative judicial nominees. Democratic nominee Doug Jones, by contrast, has harshly criticized Mr. Trump's policy proposals, while staking out strongly liberal positions on key issues.
