Poll: Moore Leads Senate Race

A poll in Alabama's Senate race shows Republican Roy Moore leading by 6 points.  The survey, conducted by Atlantic Media and Research and published by Breitbart News, gives Moore 43 percent of the vote to Democrat Doug Jones's 37 percent.   The poll of 623 likely voters was taken 11/18-21, and has a margin of 3.9 percent.   A memo from  pollster Rick Shaftan indicated the poll was conducted for major donors and Super PACs supporting Moore.    Polls had given Moore a double-digit lead until allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced in a Nov. 9 Washington Post story.    Moore has strongly denied any misconduct, and the campaign has produced witness statements and other evidence contradicting the accusers' claims.  Moore received a major boost Tuesday when President Donald Trump came to his defense, and attacked Jones.  Political observers said the poll indicates Moore has regained momentum heading toward the December 12 election.
