Central Alabama braced for possible snow on Friday, after the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory. WBRC Fox 6 Chief Meterologist JP Dice said accumulations were expected to range between 1/2 an inch in Birmingham to 1 inch in Shelby County, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. He expected most of the precipitation to fall during the early morning hours, when the temperature was expected to hover near the freezing mark. Many area school systems announced 2 hour delays for Friday.
