Alabama Flu Outbreak Declared "Crisis"

Alabama's flu outbreak is a crisis.  That's the word from acting state health officer Scott Harris, who says hospitals are near capacity in many counties.   He advises people suffering from the flu  to stay home, even after they begin feeling better.  "We generally people to be infectious for something like 5-7 days, so even after they begin getting well, they typically want to stay home from work or stay home from school for 5-7 days," Harris said.   He said children can take longer.   Doctors say it's not too late to get a flu shot.
