Arrest in Calera Murder

Police Thursday made an arrest in the high-profile murder of a Calera woman.  The husband of Kathleen "Kat" West was taken into custody at the couple's home, and taken to police headquarters before being transported to jail.   William Jeffery "Jeff" West, 44, was seen with his wife shopping at a liquor store the night before his wife's body was found, partially clothed, outside the couple's home last month.   The case received national attention, after it was revealed that Mrs. West, 42, ran a subscription-only adult website featuring suggestive photos of herself, under the name "Kitty Kat" West.  Police chief Sean Lemley said West died from blunt force trauma.   Lemley declined to discuss the motive, saying only, "We know what happened that night."  West was ordered held on $500,000 bond.   Shelby County District Attorney Jill Lee said he "will be prosecuted to the fullest extent the law allows.''
