Shooting at Huffman High School Kills Girl

Two students were shot -- one fatally -- Wednesday afternoon at Huffman High School, Birmingham police said.  A 17-year old girl died of her injuries, while a 17-year old boy was being treated at a hospital, police chief Orlando Wilson said.  Wilson added that the shooting is considered accidental at this time.   Students said the shooting happened shortly after the dismissal bell, sending them scurrying for cover.     Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin said the girl who died was a senior who already had been accepted to college, and planned to become a nurse.   "We're talking about losing a part of our future," Woodfin said.
