No Bond Reduction in Kat West Murder

A Shelby County judge Monday rejected a motion to reduce bond in the Kat West murder case.     Judge Bill Bostick cited the violent nature of the Calera woman's death as he kept her husband's bond at $500,000.   Police say Jeff West killed his wife by hitting her in the head with a liquor bottle.   But the victim's mother,  Nancy Martin, says she thinks her daughter died from a fall.    "I know how she got when she drank, and I also know when she drank, she didn't stop," Martin told reporters.    But a prosecutor said evidence shows  Kat West's blood was found on the bottle, which contained only her husband's fingerprints.
