A prominent Birmingham musician Monday was arrested on a child pornography charge. Ray Reach is accused of possessing obscene material involving a victim under the age of 17. He was released on $15,000 bond. Details of the case were not immediately available. Reach, 69, is a fixture on Birmingham's jazz scene. The pianist-guitarist-vocalist has taught music at UAB, and currently serves as Director of Student Jazz Programs for the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame.
