Lawsuit Challenges Census

The 2020 Census is now the subject of a lawsuit.  Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall and Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville) filed the legal challenge in federal court.   The suit contends the Census Bureau broke the law when it decided to include illegal aliens in the head count.   Brooks and Marshall say if the decision stands, Alabama will lose a House seat, along with an Electoral College vote.  The seat, and vote, could be transferred to a so-called sanctuary state like California, whose population has grown at a faster rate, in part, due to illegal immigration.   "We cannot allow a small number of states to cheat the rest of America by promoting illegal immigration, and then, as a reward for their lawless conduct, to receive greater proporational representation in Congress and the Electroral College," Brooks said.
