Manuel Towns is accused in the kidnapping of an Avondale woman. He drove Brittany Diggs around town while she was in the trunk of her own car, attempting to use her debit card at various ATM's. Diggs was able to escape the trunk, and roll out to safety in the parking lot of a convenience store. The surveillance video of her escape gained national attention at the time. Now, for a second time, court proceedings to sentence Towns, who has a lengthy criminal record, are on hold. Authorities say the introduction of new documents in the case are what caused the second delay in sentencing, which is now set for July 16.
