The clerk reported to Tuscaloosa police that two men stole three cases of beer from the Shell Station on Skyland Boulevard. When she followed the men to their car and tried to retrieve the beer, they drove off. They dragged the clerk through the parking lot. She suffered a life threatening head injury and is being treated at DCH Regional Medical Center. Several witnesses were able to help cops identify the car as well as one of the suspects. Dewan Latrell Hampton is charged with robbery. He is being held on $60,000 bond. More charges are pending.
