The Bessemer Courthouse, all municipal buildings and many business in Bessemer have been forced to close after the recurrence of a water main break.
Bessemer Water crews have returned to the scene of last week’s 36 inch water main break. A clamp which was placed Friday failed on Sunday, leaving many without water again.
Bessemer City officials have assured the public that a permanent solution is on the way. They expect delivery tomorrow of a sleeve made in Texas to permanently seal the leek.
Until the sleeve’s arrival water service will not be restored to area homes and businesses.
