Alabama State Representative David Standridge believes its high time that we put the National Motto “In God We Trust” back in Alabama Schools. That’s why he has drafted legislation allowing Schools to display the Motto inside the school on the wall.
The Blount County School System could be the first to place these signs on the walls.
Representative Standridge’s legislation, the “In God We Trust” Act will permit the placement of the Motto in all public buildings in the state of Alabama.
The Freedom From Religion Foundation and the ACLU have stated they are watching Alabama very closely to see what legal action they can take should a school attempt to act on the new freedom afforded them by the “In God we Trust” Act.
This morning, Rep Standridge and his wife dropped by the WERC studios this morning and spoke with JT about the need for this legislation. You can hear that interview Here.
