An officer attempted to pull the man over on Valley Avenue for having a switched tag, but the driver took off. He hit another car along Green Springs Highway, but that driver was not injured. He then stopped the wrecked car in the Palisades Shopping Center, near the Cleaners and Coin Laundry. He ran into the business, and grabbed an employee. He dragged her toward the back of the store, where investigators say he thought their was a rear entrance. As police surrounded the building, the suspect collapsed. He was hospitalized for bleeding caused by the impact of the airbags in the car he crashed. Turns out, that car was reported stolen in Birmingham in August. The suspect faces several charges.
