The deaths of a local official and a woman have been ruled a murder-suicide. State investigators say Parrish Town Councilman John Softley, 70, shot and killed 30-year old Monica Graves, then turned the gun on himself. Their bodies were found inside Softley's truck, parked under an I-22 overpass in Dora last month. Investigators have not commented on the relationship between Softley and Graves, or disclosed a possible motive. The investigation is ongoing.
