Vice President Mike Pence is coming to Birmingham on Tuesday. The White House says Pence will appear at a National Republican Senatorial Committee fundraiser, ahead of next week's midterm elections. Political observers believe the GOP has a strong chance of holding onto, or possibly expanding, its 51-seat majority. Ten of the Democrats seeking re-election are from states that President Trump carried in 2016, while only one Republican senator is from a state won by Hillary Clinton. The fundraiser was rescheduled, after a previous date was canceled due to Hurricane Michael. Gov. Kay Ivey is expected to welcome the vice president, when Air Force Two touches down.
