An armed carjacking at the Galleria is under investigation, Hoover police said. A man stole a car from a woman, at gunpoint, in the mall's north parking deck Thursday, investigators said. The same man had earlier stolen another car in Birmingham, and was pursued into Hoover by the first vehicle's owner, who fired shots at the car on Highway 31, before the crook drove off, investigators said. The vehicle stolen at the Galleria is a Nissan Pathfinder, Alabama tag 1BC1345. The suspect is described as a black male, medium build, standing between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-9. He was wearing a tan jacket with a grey hood. Anyone with information is asked to call Hoover police.
