Drug Bust at Thompson High School

A student was facing criminal charges, following a drug investigation at Alabaster's Thompson High School, authorities said.    Kamau Greene, 18, was taken into custody after investigators found him to be in possession of Ecstasy, Psilocybin mushroom powder, Xanax, drug paraphernalia, and a quarter pound of Marijuana, the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force said.    Greene was also found to be in possession of three firearms on the school campus, one of which was confirmed stolen, investigators said.

Captain Clay Hammac, the task force's commander, said, "Our community in Alabaster has much to be proud of.  The partnership between School Resource Officers, Teachers, Staff, and School Administration illustrates that our students' safety and quality of learning is of the highest priority."

Greene was free on $13,000 bond.
